MAXIME BENDER "Infinity Of Sounds" [LUX, CH, F]
feat. Daniel Humair, Stéphane Kerecki & Benjamin Moussay
Music / art is extremely important in times of crisis, because it reflects the society in which we live, shows the creativity of man and gives hope. And hope = life, music-art = necessity. (Statement of Maxime Bender about the New Colours Festival)
Generations meet in the project "Infinity of Sound". The Luxembourg saxophonist Maxime Bender transports with his charismatic playing a passionate jazz idiom in the eternal succession of Coltrane and Co. into the 21st century. With Franco-Swiss Daniel Humair on drums, another strong voice rises up that you can't get around in European jazz. (His band partner for many years, pianist Joachim Kühn, also played on "Infinity of Sound" at one point). How much the musical ideals lived in this band radiate into the young generation is shown by the current top musicians from France Benjamin Moussay and Stephane Kerecki.
