A FESTIVAL FOR DISCOVERERS AND PERSPECTIVE CHANGERS
Gelsenkirchen and the Northern Ruhr area has so much more to offer than you think. Gelsenkirchen alone can score with 4 castles and palaces. Many artists have their studios and galleries in the region and there are many fascinating places of industrial culture. Whether the Nordsternturm, one of the most unusual venues in Germany, the Consol, Hugo or Oberschuir collieries with the stadt.bau.raum.
In many of these places the festival will take place in the coming years. In addition, there are important museums, beautiful park landscapes and walkable slagheaps where you can experience the Ruhr region in 3D. In 2023, Dorsten and Marl, two more cities in the northern Ruhr region, will be involved. In the Grimme Prize city of Marl, a very special venue awaits visitors. The Scharoun assembly hall is one of the most important school buildings of the post-war period and one of the most important examples of organic building.
