This event takes place in cooperation with LaLa.ruhr as part of the biennale of urban landscape. At the biennale, planners, activists, landscape architects, urban gardeners, politicians, artists and technology enthusiasts will address the question of how we need to reinvent our cities due to climate change. The way we have thought about and built our coexistence over the past decades is not the way we can continue. The problem is unmistakable, the challenge to completely rethink our cities huge. Every:r knows that something has to change now, but where to start? The NEW COLOURS FESTIVAL also deals with this topic. We are concerned with the arrival and departure of the musicians and the audience, energy consumption and sustainability in the area of gastronomic offerings. You can find the first results of our considerations under GO GREEN NEW COLOURS FESTIVAL. With this program item we also hope for an exchange of ideas between the festival and biennial participants. Matthias Schriefl is not only a musical jack-of-all-trades, but also has a mission. He knows and loves the big stages and the wide world, but makes a point of regularly bringing jazz to people on a small scale as well. This is noteworthy because Schriefl, especially with his band Shreepunk, has already toured Europe's major concert halls as a "Rising Star" of the European Concert Hall Organization and is probably one of the busiest jazz musicians around. But Schriefl is not only one of the most outstanding trumpeters in Europe, he is also a gifted entertainer. After the cancellation of the Fischermann Orchestra, he unceremoniously put together a new band and will show us what jazz is all about. Improvisation at the highest level!
