Music is an emotional and psychological mirror. It creates an image of a part of your inner self and places it in front of you. And that helps you to have a better knowledge of yourself, therefore being a better person. (Statement by Daniel Garcia about the New Colours Festival)
Music from Spain sounds like - Music from Spain! The best musicians of the Iberian Peninsula, like pianist Daniel García, draw on the heritage of flamenco. "Flamenco and jazz are siblings" says Daniel García himself about it, alluding to the common improvised essence. What Daniel García draws from this can be described as world class without reservation. He received his training at Berklee College Boston, one of the most renowned jazz schools. He also received inspiration from Danilo Pérez, who was a sideman with the recently deceased Wayne Shorter.
