NEW COLOURS KOLLEKTIV [D]

A very specially designed project for the festival awaits the pupils of the upper secondary schools in Gelsenkirchen. Four outstanding musicians from the German jazz scene are setting out as the Urban Colours Collective to take the young audience into unknown musical spheres. With modern grooves and danceable rhythms, they concoct jazz that has what it takes to be the soundtrack of the future. The improvisation so typical of jazz is the salt in the soup. If the audience is already an important source of energy at a normal concert, it can and should be an active part of the musical action in this project.
