CHRISTOPH PEPE AUER CLARINET SAXOPHONE | PEPEPHON MANFRED TREMMEL GUITAR
CONCERT FOR CHILDREN AGED 4 TO 10
Ready, set, go! Three instruments are competing against each other. Have you ever heard of a Pepephon? If you want to know what this instrument sounds like, this children’s concert is the perfect place to find out. It’s an entertaining journey featuring the guitar, the saxophone—and, of course, the aforementioned Pepefon in their luggage. We’ll let you in on a little secret: the Pepefon bears a distant resemblance to a marble game. The two passionate musical comedians also play other strange contraptions. At this children’s concert, the audience is invited to join the two musicians in exploring sounds and quotes from jazz, pop, folk, and classical music. Where on earth have they been hiding? Adults will have a blast here, too. The focus is on the pure joy of playing, creative use of the instruments, and a musically interactive exchange with the audience.
Behind all this playful music education, Austrian multi-instrumentalist Christoph Pepe Auer brings a vast wealth of experience from his own bands as well as from the Jazz Big Band Graz and the Vienna Art Orchestra. Equally versatile, Christoph Pepe Auer is active as a teacher at the Mozarteum in Salzburg and at the Jazzcampus Basel. He is joined by Manfred Speedy Temmel, one of the most versatile string virtuosos on the Austrian jazz scene.
