Miles Davis and Co. have left an indelible mark. They also point the way for today's explorations, for example for the Australian band The Vampires. Four of the most renowned jazz instrumentalists from "down under" reveal relevant references: First and foremost, there is the silvery muted trumpet playing as in the legendary album "Bitches Brew". But there is much more that makes the wealth of experience in 2024 vast and rich. So you can also casually listen to well-hung reggae roots. In their 13-year band history, the Vampires have already released seven albums and were the first purely instrumental group to be nominated for the Australian Music Prize.
