Friendly provocation: A body on a stage is a political statement - for some bodies more than others. That's why the stage is a place where utopias can be dreamed and tried out. (Statement by Lisa Hoppe on the New Colours Festival 2023)

Low frequencies and harmonics are a fascinating world when Lisa Hoppe plays double bass. Because this musician's creativity grows far beyond her instrument, Lisa Hoppe is also a composer and bandleader. The sensitivity of her German-Israeli-Swiss project "YSOP" stimulates the imagination. The musical sophistication of the arrangements broadens the listener's horizons immeasurably. The unusual instrumentation of vocals, violin, trombone, piano and double bass complements each other brilliantly. The current program "Songs about Healing" presents compositions about processing loss, injuries and crises. But a healing musical silver lining is never far away.
